Step 1: Navigate to the folder containing your PDF File.
Step 2: Open the PDF file with your Preview app. By default the Preview tool is Mac’s default app for opening PDF files,

If the above doesn’t work. Launch your Preview app, click on “File” in the top menu bar then select “Open“, a window now pops up prompting you to select the PDF file you wish to edit, then click on “Open“.
Step 3: After the PDF opens in Preview, click on “File” in your top menu.
Step 4: Select “Export As….” at the middle of the drop-down menu, a dialog box pops up.
Step 5: Click on the “Format” drop-down menu in the Export pop up box.
Step 6: Select the PDF.
Step 7: Now go to the “Quartz Filter” drop-down menu, which is below the “Format” option.
Step 8: Choose “Reduce File Size“.
Step 9: In the “Export As” box, rename the PDF to a name you want, don’t erase the “.pdf” extension.

The setup of Ms.Word on Mac and Windows are the same, so just like the above steps, these steps could be applied with Ms.Word for Mac Os.
Today, almost all Windows users have Ms. Word application on their PC, but a few are aware that you can reduce your PDF document with Ms. Word. The downside is that, if the document you wish to work on is already a PDF file
You’ll need to convert it to a word document, this is very possible with online tools if you are in a hurry. You might see a means to open your PDF file
in a word document when you right-click, I don’t advise you do this cause you’ll need to edit a lot of things when Word opens your PDF file.
I presume you have converted the PDF document to Word document, we will be using the “Save As Minimum Size” to convert our Word document BACK to a reduced size PDF. Steps below. Use a very recent Ms Word App
Step 1: Open your document(Former PDF now Word) in the Ms Word app. You can do this by, launching the Ms. Word app -> then click on “File” at the top menu -> Select “Open” then navigate to the folder you saved the new document and select it.
Step 2: The document now opens in the Ms. Word App, click on “File” at the top menu.
Step 3: Select “Save As”
Step 4: A dialogue box pops up, look down you’ll see “Save As” drop-down menu, click it and choose “PDF“.
Step 5: Right below the above box, you’ll see “Optimize For” choose “Minimum Size (Publishing Online)“.
Step 6: To the right of the above box, you’ll see an “Option” box, click this. A dialogue box pops up.
Step 7: Check to make sure that “ISO 19005-1 compliant (PDF/A)” and “Bitmap text when fonts may not be embedded” is not checked. If they are checked, uncheck the boxes.

Step 1: Download GhostScript here.
Step 2: Install any of these applications.
This is a lightweight image viewer app for your windows. It gives you a lot of plugins. It also has a PDF printing quality.
This also works, but you must install GhostScript.
