Note: This is a general instruction, your system might have a different instruction on how to do this, so it’s up to you to proceed.
How To take Keys Off Keyboard
Step 1: To take off the keycap from a keyboard, gently place your finger nail, small flat-head screwdriver, or small knife under a corner of the key and gently pull the keycap up and away from the laptop.
Step 2: In common situations, the key only snaps out partially. If the keycap is still attached to the laptop, use your fingers to remove the keycap completely and do this carefully
Step 3: Once taken off, you should see the key retainer (scissor-switch) still attached to the laptop with the pad in the middle. If you want to, you can remove it from the laptop. To do so, place the flat head of a screwdriver or a knife’s edge under a corner and gently twist until it pops off.
How To Replace Keys Back On Your Keyboard
Step 1: With the key removed, carefully observe the metal hooks on the keyboard where the old key was.
Step 2: Orient the plastic hinge (new or old) so that the holes line up with the metal hooks.
Step 3: Insert the smaller plastic piece, usually referred to as a cup, evenly into the center of the retainer.
Step 4: Replace the keycap and press evenly on all four sides.
Step 5: Test the keys and listening for any strange sound.
